Murrayfield Stadium is home to the Scottish Rugby Union team and is located in Edinburgh, the country’s capital city. Murrayfield is named as such because of the area of Edinburgh in which it can be found; the west end of Edinburgh in Murrayfield!

It is by far the largest stadium in Scotland as it seats 67,130 people at full capacity but it is not as large as other UK homes to national rugby teams such as the Millennium Stadium which is home to the Welsh Rugby Team or Twickenham which houses the England Rugby Team. The Millennium Stadium can seat 74,500 people and Twickenham can host 82,000.

Until recently, Murrayfield Stadium could take up to 67,800 but the capacity was decreased in order to install incredibly large big screens in the stadium.

Murrayfield Stadium is famous for hosting a concert called The Final Push as part of the Live 8 campaign. It hosts other music events and also hosts sporting fixtures. Its widest use is for rugby union games which sees the stadium in almost constant use. All of Scotland’s six nations games in 2013 are being hosted at the stadium making it a popular choice for Scottish rugby fans during this championship series.

The stadium offers multi-use space as many conferences are held within its grounds with a host of conference and meeting rooms and banqueting facilities for 1,000 people, it is a popular choice for businesses and the like.

With good transport links and parking, the stadium is frequented by coach and minibus services. 1st 4 Coaches is one such company which offers travel to and from this stadium, whether our clients are attending a sporting fixture or a business conference.
