The first match between these two teams had to be postponed because of torrential rain and the fact that the Polish stadium in which the game was due to be held was waterlogged. Instead, the game was moved to another date but in the same venue in Warsaw.

The result of the match was a draw with the score line reading as 1-1, with Wayne Rooney scoring the England goal with his head.

The next fixture between the two clubs will form the last game in England’s qualifying rounds and will be held on home turf at Wembley Stadium in October this year.

The 15 October should therefore see thousands of fans make their way to the London ground in the hope of seeing England win the match and qualify to the Brazil World Cup 2014.
